What are these activity books for kids?
Each activity book is a small, ready-made workbook in PDF form. We choose 10 to 20 pages that go well together, arrange them from simple to slightly more challenging, and bundle them into one file you can open, play or print. A book may mix letter tracing, counting, shapes, mazes, matching and colouring, so children stay interested from the first page to the last. Nothing is locked and nothing needs a subscription. If you prefer single sheets instead of a full book, you can always browse our free printable worksheets and pick exactly the page you need.
New activity books are added regularly, including seasonal and holiday books that are perfect for school breaks, long journeys and rainy afternoons.
Skills children learn from an activity book
Because one book covers several kinds of pages, children practise many skills in a short sitting:
- Pencil control and fine motor skills through tracing, colouring inside lines and joining dots.
- Early literacy with letter shapes, beginning sounds, matching and simple words.
- Early numeracy with counting, number order, shapes and easy picture addition.
- Thinking skills such as spotting patterns, sorting, finding the odd one out and solving mazes.
- Focus and persistence because finishing a whole book gives a clear goal and a sense of progress.
- Independence as children learn to turn the page and start the next activity on their own.
How to play online and how to print
Every page in our activity books works in two ways. Online: open the book on a phone, tablet, laptop or classroom screen and let your child tap, drag, colour and trace with a finger or mouse. Answers can be checked straight away, so children get quick, friendly feedback. Printed: download the PDF and print all the pages at once, or choose a page range to save paper and ink. A4 paper works best, and plain black and white printing is fine for most pages. Staple the sheets along one edge and you have a real little book your child can keep.
Tip: print on slightly thicker paper if your child presses hard with crayons, and keep finished books in a folder so children can look back at what they completed.
Ideas by age: 2-3, 4-5 and 6-8
- Ages 2-3 (toddlers): sit beside your child and do one or two pages a day. Big colouring pictures, simple matching and thick tracing lines are best. Talk about the pictures, name the colours and let scribbling count as success.
- Ages 4-5 (preschool and kindergarten): try three or four pages in a sitting. Letter tracing, counting to 10 or 20, shapes, patterns and easy mazes suit this age. Online play is useful for quick practice, while printed pages build writing grip.
- Ages 6-8 (early primary): children can work through a book mostly on their own. Choose books with sight words, spelling, addition, time, money and logic puzzles. Set a small daily target, such as two pages before or after homework.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Keep sessions short. Ten to fifteen minutes of happy work beats an hour of tired work.
- Let children choose the page. Flipping to a favourite activity keeps motivation high; the order does not matter.
- Use books for quiet time. A printed activity book is screen-free entertainment for travel, waiting rooms and holidays.
- Make class sets. Teachers can print one book per child for early finishers, substitute lessons or a holiday homework pack.
- Celebrate the finish. Mark the last page with a printable certificate or star so the effort feels rewarded.
- Mix online and paper. Try a page on the tablet first, then print the same type of page for handwriting practice.
Free, safe and simple to use
All our activity books are free to view online and free to download. There is no sign-up, no account and no personal information needed, and the pages contain only friendly, child-safe pictures. The files open on any device with a PDF reader, so you can save a book once and use it again with younger brothers, sisters or a whole class. Start with one book, see which pages your child enjoys most, then explore more printable learning pages on the same topic.
